My Unit Project is so exciting and fun!

I am working on a unit plan for teaching young music students. It is based on the ninth movement of Edward Elgar's Enigma Variations. It is called Nimrod and can be found in movies which is awesome. I love the piece so much that I can notice it by hearing it in a movie.

I will teach students about the history of the composer and then they will listen to the piece. Then I will teach them about the important pitches in the piece and they will create their own four bar composition, in groups, on and iPad or some sort of electronic device. Finally I will compile all the groups' phrases and have them listen to the final product which we will then play on an assortment of instruments.

There are great educational values in this piece and is even easy to make a unit plan about it. I am very excited to eventual teach students using this plan.

Here is a recording of Nimrod. Listen and enjoy!!

Now that my project is finished I want to tell you all about it!

There are three great lessons that are associated with it.
